The Melvins

Two drummers?  Seriously? Two completely insanely good drummers bashing away on a two person drum set?   Seriously??

They had a stand-in bassist (From "Honky", who also rocked) so I guess I will have to see them again when they are at full force.

Wildlife on the walk home.

Good times!  And the sidewalk outside was full of adventure as well!!

Plus a big "Fuck You!" to the aggro bouncers at The Wild Buffalo. A Pit is a self-governing democracy that does not need your testerone-fueled intervention. You threw out a 52-year-old man who was doing the pogo. I am sorry you have such small penises (although it was fun watching him try and get back in!) Here's some advice: If you see someone getting their ass kicked, throw THAT person out.

I Must Not Fear...

I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing......Only I will remain.

The 1000th Crane

It is thought by some that if a person folds a thousand origami cranes, they will find true love.

Brazed and blued ~1/8" sheet steel.  A gift from the heart for the marriage of Tory and Curtis, who are my Sister, and my Brother.

The Rings Elliptic: Steel Table Base With Live Edge Maple Top

I was commissioned to build the base for this table as a Christmas present for the owners wife.

The top was constructed by the owner, a local contractor and finish carpenter, from live edge maple.

The base consists of cut steel rings of various diameters, wall thicknesses, and depths.  I find that this technique provides an organic and highly variable quality to what can often be a cold and linear material.  The front and side profiles are on elliptical curves.

This was a really fun and challenging project to design and build, the owners are in love with it, and it gets glowing compliments from all of their guests.  It is really special to have been part of creating something that is now a family heirloom.
